About Me
My name is Laura Saffill and I’m a qualified experienced Counsellor working with adults and young people. Based in Epping, I offer both long and short term counselling dependant on your needs. I work within a person centred approach, putting you at the heart of the counselling process. I will work with you at your own pace, tackling the issues you wish to explore. I believe that we all have the ability within us to help ourselves in times of difficulty but that we sometimes need support and guidance in a safe non-judgemental space. This enables us to learn about ourselves on a deeper level and move forward with increased resilience and contentment.
I have a Level 4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (CPCAB; Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body) and have worked with both adults and young people covering a wide variety of issues.
I’m a Registered Member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and committed to its Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions 2018. I'm also subject to its professional conduct procedures.
I worked at Haven – The Survivors of Abuse Network for 18 months, dealing mostly with adult clients who were survivors of various forms of abuse both current and historical ranging from sexual abuse and domestic violence to emotional abuse.
As well as working privately I also work at The Box in Epping. This includes working with young people aged 11-18 through The Box Counselling Service and also with Year 10 and 11 students at The Open Box Education Centre.
I’m a real advocate of the person centred approach, putting my clients first and working together in a non-directive way. To learn more about this way of working please see my Person Centred Counselling page.
